In the Room
Owston hall has a very refined air but very comfortable.
Breakfast is not included on the price which was a shock. You have to pay extra for breakfast!
Quality hotel with a 24 hour bar. Make sure u book an executive room, it's more expensive but worth the upgrade!!
I stay due to having appointments in Doncaster, but find time to have a round of golf
Bedroom was o k and location of hotel was also good.
We had to request towels as there was not many in the room.service at breakfast was dire, waiting for food to be prepared for 30 mins and then still not everthing available gave up in the end. Cleanleness of the bar , lounge and dining room poor. Bar staff helping themselves to drinks and drinking in bar while on duty. Piles of laundry blocking lift at check out time.
Disapointed with food, restaurant and bar. Room was noisy. The hotel could be so much more with a little effort and attention to detail. Staff were freindly, but not well trained.
Fanastic location and beautiful golf course. For £70 a night I would have expected to be given a more modern room as we ended up staying in the Coach House which was a bit dated. Clean none the less. Perhaps the value for money could have been better as I wasn't expecting to pay London prices for a dated room. Otherwise staff was great, and I would go back.
excellent breakfasts, with quality bacon and herb sausages., as well as fresh fruit salad.
.large bedroom was good, but in our stable room, the shower was only a handheld, not an enclosure.
I liked the location, it was very handy for a weekend of Meeting I was attending. It was only a short walk from the venue itself. The Breakfast buffet deal for Ten pounds was great too. The staff were great.
It would be good if the local 'owston motel' rooms were available for those like myself on on a tighter budget. It used to be but it appears very hard to book a room down there.
Now having to make ones own tea at breakfast.
Excellent Gymm/pool facilities.
Felt the price a little high for the standard of room.
Not very much, it was an unpleasant experience
Trying to find it ! check in was poor, drab room with only a hand held shower in the bath. Even though I had told you in advance that I was on crutches you put me a courtyard room which was well away from the hotel. Was not asked if I wanted an early morning call or paper, when I asked around 9.00 pm for a paper the following mornig, I was told it was too late to place an order. Beer was sour, and had to be changed (no apology). White wine was warm + no half bottles of red available. Lamb was like rubber + breakfast was average at best.Overall not a pleasant stay
The room was comfortable and welcoming. The staff were attentive and helpful. Though we had to pay a surcharge for the dog, and eat in the bar rather than the restaurant (conservatory) when it was with us, the dog was welcomed and not simply tolerated.
There was not enough information about the hotel in the room. A site plan showing where to find the various facilities would have been helpful and would have avoided the need to explore on foot and ask staff.
Very pleasant surrounds, quiet and peaceful. Great gym, pool and facilities.
My stay was very short but all staff were very accomidating, and setting of hotel was very nice.
The hotel is difficult to locate with Sat Nav I had to phone and get 'talked in'- the post code has you running all around the village of Owston. The pillow in my room was very small and flat - even with the spare from the wardrobe, not enough for a comfortable nights sleep. I could have contacted reception, and I've no doubt I could have got more.
